Large language model

A large language model (LLM) is an AI model trained on large amounts of text to understand and generate language. It powers chat assistants, writing tools, and AI agents.

Also known as: LLM, LLMs, large language models

A large language model predicts and generates text based on patterns learned from training data. Modern models can also work with images, files, and tools, which lets them draft documents, write code, and follow multi-step instructions.

An LLM does not know facts about your business unless you give it that context, and it can state wrong information with confidence. Checking its output is part of using it well.
